The Dairy Council of Florida

dietitian Health ProfessionalsThe Dairy Council of Florida is an affiliate of the National Dairy Council that was established in 1915. The Council is dedicated to providing health professionals with current, research-based dairy nutrition information they can use to educate the public on the health benefits of consuming milk and milk products during their lifetime. Health professionals are a key resource to dispense accurate health and nutrition information. Therefore, they are vital partners in positively positioning dairy to help individuals improve their overall nutrient intake and diet quality.

Milk Benefits

Studies show that dairy foods, when consumed as part of a healthy diet, improve overall diet quality. Dairy also may help reduce the risk of osteoporosis, hypertension, obesity, colon cancer and metabolic syndrome, a cluster of conditions that can lead to heart disease and type 2 diabetes. We hope that this section will provide you with credible dairy and nutrition research, educational tools and information your patients need to learn about the importance of dairy in their diet.
