For more than 90 years, the National Dairy Council has offered research and nutrition education programs in schools with a commitment to providing leadership in the fight against poor nutrition, inactivity and obesity among our nation’s youth.
Staff registered dietitians with the Dairy Council of Florida provide outreach to dietitians, doctors, nurses and other health professionals. The Council is considered a reliable resource that offers sound, research-based information to assure the benefits of dairy are portrayed accurately. Dairy Council dietitians routinely make presentations at seminars and meetings to deliver information on new research while reiterating the importance of keeping dairy in the diets of patients and clients.
As part of the Kids Eat Right! campaign, 35 Florida schools are receiving support from
American Dietetic Association (ADA) members to assist with planning and implementing Fuel Up to Play 60 during the 2010-2011 and 2011-2012 school years. A total of $100,000 in registered dietitian Fuel Up to Play 60 grant funding is available nationwide, sponsored by National Dairy Council.
