Join Florida Dairy Farmers at Taste! Central Florida Supporting Second Harvest Food Bank

One in six people are food insecure in the United States, many of them children. In Central Florida, there are more than a half a million people that don’t know where their next meal is going to come from. One of the most requested food items at local food banks is milk, and it’s often not available. Because of this, Florida Dairy Farmers is supporting Taste! Central Florida, a fundraising food and beverage tasting event raising money for children’s feeding programs through Second Harvest Food Bank of Central Florida and Coalition for the Homeless Central Florida. The event features 43 restaurants and several specialty beverage vendors from around the state providing tastes of their signature dishes and beverages.

Florida Dairy Farmers will be offering a decadent milkshake bar using ice cream from The Ice Cream Club© and fresh Florida milk, in flavors such as Churro Salted Caramel, Strawberry Cheesecake, and S’mores. Joining FDF is Mousse Café featuring their mousse blended with Florida milk to whip up freshly churned coffee mousse.

Join in the fun at home by making our favorite decadent S’mores Milkshake.

S’mores Milkshake:

Ingredients:

• 4 scoops of Chocolate Baja ice cream The Ice Cream Club (http://www.icecreamclub.com/)
• 1 cup whole milk
• Mini Marshmallows for toppings
• Chocolate syrup
• Crushed Graham crackers

Directions:

1. Blend ice cream and milk until combined.
2. Dip rim of a cold glass in chocolate syrup and then dip in crushed graham crackers, place back in the freezer for a few minutes to set.
3. Pour milkshake and top with mini marshmallows
4. Enjoy!
