The Farm Mom

florida milk family

I would be lying if I said that before coming to work for Florida Dairy Farmers that I didn’t picture a dairy farmer being an old guy wearing jean overalls living in the middle nowhere Wisconsin.

“Dairy farms in Florida?” I remember asking myself when I applied for the job.

As I quickly found out, the common misconception I had about farmers was exactly that, and I was dead wrong.

Dairy farmers do not discriminate. They come from all over the world with one common goal, to be caretakers of their cows, stewards of the land and leaders in their communities.

They are not just men, but also women. They are not all old, but also young. Not just husbands, but also wives, and not just fathers, but also the most amazing mothers.

As Mother’s Day approaches we as an organization want to take the time to recognize our amazing farm moms who work day in and day out both on the farm and at home raising their children.

As I have gotten to know these farm families, especially our farm moms, I have gained such a deeper appreciation and respect for what they do on a daily basis. The way they care for their cows like they do their own children is truly something inspiring. The way they raise their children with respect and kindness and to be stewards of the land, and future leaders in the community is something you don’t get to see often in a Facebook and iPhone driven society. Most importantly they are some of the strongest women I have ever had the pleasure of knowing.

Below are just a few of the many amazing dairy farm moms we have the pleasure of working for and who are working hard every day for you, to produce wholesome quality milk from their farm families to yours.

Happy Mother’s Day to all of our amazing dairy farm moms!
