The Dairy Council of Florida, Gustafson’s Dairy and Orange County Public Schools are partnering to place 15 dairy vending machines in middle and high schools around the district. These 15 machines build on last year’s successful program that placed 10 machines across the district.
These 25 dairy focused- vending machines have the potential to generate $7,500 per week in additional revenue for the district while increasing access and consumption of dairy to the over 80,000 students in the fourth largest district in the state. Milk, cheese and yogurt will be positioned with complimenting foods so that students have access to a variety of food groups to encourage (low fat and fat free dairy, fruits and vegetables and whole grains).
