Ingredients

  • 16 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 12 oz diced jalapenos (can or jar), drained
  • 1/2 cup red onion, finely chopped
  • 1/3 cup + 2 tablespoons green onion, sliced
  • 1 cup + 2 tablespoons cheddar cheese, shredded
  • 2 teaspoons garlic powder
  • 1/8 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground cayenne pepper, optional
  • 3.5 oz package of cooked chopped bacon
  • 1/2 cup toasted finally chopped pecans
  • 1/4 cup sour cream

Preparation

  1. Mix cream cheese, jalapenos, red onion, 1/3 cup of the green onion and 1 cup of shredded cheese until well combined. Add seasonings and blend.
  2. Cover or wrap cheese mixture and place in refrigerator for 30 minutes or overnight.
  3. When ready to serve, mix bacon, chopped pecans with renaming green onions and shredded cheese in a pie dish. Use parchment paper or plastic baggies on your hands to shape cheese mixture into a football shape and then roll it into the pie dish until fully coated.
  4. Place onto serving dish and pipe sour cream using a plastic baggy with a corner cut off onto the cheeseball to make it look like a football.
  5. Serve with hearty corn chips and veggies like carrots and celery.
