Ingredients
- 2 cups pre-cooked white cornmeal (masarepa)
- 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1/2 cup crumbled queso fresco
- 2 tablespoons butter, melted
- 1 cup whole milk
- 1 egg
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
Preparation
- In a large bowl, combine cornmeal, mozzarella, queso fresco, and salt.
- Add milk, butter, and egg. Mix until a soft dough forms.
- Divide dough into small balls and flatten into mini arepas.
- Heat a lightly greased skillet over medium heat. Cook arepas 4–5 minutes per side until golden brown and cheese is melted.
- Serve warm and enjoy.
