Homemade Dulce de Leche

- 5 cups of milk
- 1 1/2 cups of sugar
- 1 tsp baking soda
- In a saucepan over medium heat, combine the milk and sugar and stir using a spatula. Allow to simmer and thicken, this process will take about an hour. Keep a close eye and make sure to continuously stir.
- Once the dulce de leche begins to thicken and takes a light brown color, add the baking soda and vigorously stir using a spatula. Continue stirring until it fully thickens and takes a deep brown color. Store in an air-tight container for up to two weeks and enjoy!
