Take the classic Southern spread up a notch by serving it as a hot and hearty dip. For best results, do not use pre-shredded cheese.
Ingredients
- ½ cup cream cheese, softened
- ½ cup plain Greek yogurt
- ½ cup mayonnaise
- ½ tsp. ground mustard
- 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
- ½ teaspoon garlic salt
- 16 ounces extra-sharp Cheddar cheese, shredded
- 1 (7-ounce) jar diced pimiento, drained
- ¼ cup chopped green onion
- salt & pepper to taste
- A pinch of smoked Paprika (optional)
Preparation
- Preheat oven to 350°.
- Combine cream cheese and next 4 ingredients in a large bowl. Stir well to combine. Add shredded cheese, pimiento, and green onion and stir well to combine.
- Spoon mixture into a lightly greased 2-quart baking dish. Bake 30 minutes or until golden and bubbly. Serve with pita chips, tortilla chips, flatbread or crackers.
Tips:
We recommend that you shred your cheese. The dip will come together smoother.
If you have any dip left over, cover and chill and use as a sandwich spread.
