Ingredients

Kid-Friendly Chocolate Protein Milkshake

  • 1 ripe banana (fresh or frozen)
  • 1 1⁄2 cups whole milk
  • 2 pitted Medjool dates
  • 1 tablespoon unsweetened sunflower seed butter (or peanut butter)
  • 1 tablespoon unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1⁄2 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1⁄2 cup ice (optional, for a colder/thicker shake)

Iced Café con Leche

  • 1⁄2 cup freshly brewed espresso or strong coffee
  • 1 cup whole milk
  • Ice (enough to fill the glass)
  • Sweetener of choice (sugar, honey, or a sugar substitute)

Preparation

Kid-Friendly Chocolate Protein Milkshake

  1. If your dates are firm, soak them in warm water for 5–10 minutes to soften. Drain before using.
  2. In a blender, combine the banana, milk, dates, sunflower seed butter, cocoa powder, and vanilla extract. Add ice if using.
  3. Blend on high until smooth and creamy.
  4. Pour into cups and serve immediately. Optional: top with a sprinkle of cocoa powder or a few banana slices.

Iced Café con Leche

  1. Brew your espresso or strong coffee and allow it to cool slightly (or brew directly over ice to chill faster).
  2. Fill a tall glass with ice.
  3. Pour the coffee over the ice.
  4. Add the milk and stir well.
  5. Sweeten to taste, if desired.
  6. Serve with a straw or spoon for stirring.
