Ingredients

  • 1 cup whole wheat flour
  • 1/4 cup all purpose flour
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 3 tablespoons sugar
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • 1 cup milk (low fat)
  • 1 egg, beaten
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • fresh assorted fruits, for serving 

For the vanilla yogurt sauce:

  • 6 ounces vanilla Greek yogurt (nonfat)
  • 3 tablespoons honey
  • 3 tablespoons half and half (or milk)

Preparation

  1. In a bowl, combine the flours, baking powder, and sugar. 
  2. Add the milk, egg, oil, and extract and stir to combine.
  3. Bake in a preheated waffle iron according to manufacturer's directions.

For vanilla mix:

  1. Mix the yogurt, honey, and half and half together until smooth. 
  2. Pour over waffles and top with fresh fruit.
