Ingredients
Pasta
- 1 lb cavatappi or elbow macaroni
Creamy Cheese Sauce
- 3 cups Florida whole milk
- 4 tbsp unsalted butter
- 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
- 2 cups sharp cheddar, shredded
- 2 cups mild cheddar, shredded
- 1 cup Monterey Jack, shredded
- 1/2 cup Parmesan, grated
Seasonings
- 1/2 tsp garlic powder
- 1/2 tsp onion powder
- 1/2 tsp paprika
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/4 tsp black pepper
- Fresh parsley (optional)
Preparation
- Cook the pasta. Preheat oven to 375°F. Boil pasta in salted water until 1–2 minutes shy of al dente. Drain.
- Make the creamy base. Melt butter over medium heat. Whisk in flour for 1 minute. Slowly whisk in Florida whole milk until smooth and thickened.
- Melt in the cheese. Stir in all seasonings. Reduce heat to low; gradually add cheeses, reserving some for the top. Stir until creamy.
- Combine: Fold drained pasta into the cheese sauce until evenly coated.
- Bake: Transfer to a baking dish, top with reserved cheese, and bake uncovered for 20–25 minutes until golden and bubbly.
- Serve. Rest for a few minutes. Garnish with parsley if desired and serve warm.
Notes
Florida whole milk creates the rich, velvety base that brings the cheese together for a creamy holiday favorite.
