- 16 oz cream cheese, softened
- 12 oz diced jalapenos (can or jar), drained
- 1/2 cup red onion, finely chopped
- 1/3 cup + 2 tablespoons green onion, sliced
- 1 cup + 2 tablespoons cheddar cheese, shredded
- 2 teaspoons garlic powder
- 1/8 teaspoon black pepper
- 1/4 teaspoon ground cayenne pepper, optional
- 3.5 oz package of cooked chopped bacon
- 1/2 cup toasted finally chopped pecans
- 1/4 cup sour cream
Preparation
- Mix cream cheese, jalapenos, red onion, 1/3 cup of the green onion and 1 cup of shredded cheese until well combined. Add seasonings and blend.
- Cover or wrap cheese mixture and place in refrigerator for 30 minutes or overnight.
- When ready to serve, mix bacon, chopped pecans with renaming green onions and shredded cheese in a pie dish. Use parchment paper or plastic baggies on your hands to shape cheese mixture into a football shape and then roll it into the pie dish until fully coated.
- Place onto serving dish and pipe sour cream using a plastic baggy with a corner cut off onto the cheeseball to make it look like a football.
- Serve with hearty corn chips and veggies like carrots and celery.
